Cherish life and embrace the life

(珍惜生命，拥抱生活)

       Yesterday, I attended a special funeral, after which a different view  came to my mind.  “Cherish to be alive and embrace the life”.

       She taught one of  my courses, as a liberal education course in my freshman year - - the law of marriage. She graduated from Peking University (top school in China), and had been worked as a judge in Henan province for her early years.  She is the professor in the School of LAW in SHU.  But unfortunately, she got the pancreatic cancer in the year of her 52 --- this year, 2016. And finally she left us on “nian san shi” – just the day before the traditional Chinese new year.

       It is a big shock to me when I heard it 4 days ago. Prof. Q, though I haven’t met her for more than 3 years, but as a teacher, she is of great talent, skills, and is very strict to academy. In her class, I formed the concept of law, and started to get enthusiathm in law, though my major is mechanical engineering.

       Yesterday, I came to her funeral. No one there knows who I am, so it seems that I am just “nobody”. But It doesn't matter to me. I still decided to be there and met her for the last time. After the funeral , I had lunch with Prof. Q’s graduate students, her 18-year-old boy -- who is 6 years younger than me, and brother of Prof. Q’s husband. During the lunch, I have learned more details about prof. Q.  She worked extremely hard every day. Staying up for writing until 2 am is an everyday habit….

       In every one’s mind, the most pity stuff in this story is the big contrast between her young age and her extraordinary reputation.

       Everyone, the saddest thing in the planet is that you die when you finally become rich; that you keep alive when you use up all your money. When you start to work, don’t forget to be nice to your body, to be healthy, happy and enjoy the life.
