Factor	Questions to ask	Look for:
Experience	Does the individual have prior experience with this type of work? Was it recent? Did the individual demonstrate proficiency? Was the project successful?	--experience that is closely related to the project work --recent experience --evidence of good performance and successful outcomes
Knowledge	Does the individual have a formal education or adequate training in this area? Is his knowledge up to date?	--education or training level that fits the particular skill required --recent training --up-to-date knowledge
Interest level	Is the individual interested in this area of work? In this particular project? Has the person asked to be involved?	--if possible, interest and enthusiasm for the work --at the very least, a willingness to try
Personal characteristics	Does the individual work well with others? Is the person a team player? What is known about the individual's work ethic, attention to detail, emotional maturity, and any other traits necessary for this particular work?	Desirable characteristics vary by project. They may include such traits as: --team player --attention to detail --adaptable --inquisitive --people skills --persistence --tact
Availability	Does the individual have sufficient time available during the project's timeline? Is this person's time spread too thin?	--sufficient hours per week --availability that fits project duration --not spread too thin Possible compromises: --phase individual in when needed --share individual with another project
