Q. What is JLR SDD, JLR VCI, Pathfinder & DOIP.
A. Jaguar Land Rover ( JLR ), SDD or Symptom driven diagnostic is a
system used on both Jaguar and Land Rover brands for pre-2014 vehicles
using the JLR VCI tool. Pathfinder is a DOIP capable tool ( diagnostics,
over, internet, protocol basically faster data transfer than CAN )
Pathfinder is for 2017 on vehicles, Pathfinder is both a tool and
software type. Vehicles covered include Evoque (L538) Discovery Sport
(L550)Discovery (L6462) Range Rover(L405)Range Rover Sport (L494)Velar (
L560 )F Pace(X761)E Pace (X540) F-type (X152)I pace (X590) XF (X260 )
Q. what do I need to apply, how do I apply?
A. The application is online and very easy, just select your region language etc
Ideally, you need to be VAT register and a limited company before they
with give you access to diagnostics if you’re not a business they will
only generally give you access to documents.

Q. How much does it cost per hour/ week/month,/year?
A. At the time of writing: £28 per hour or £67.50 per day, £143 per
week, per month £334 or £830, this is Jaguar or Land Rover, not both all
prices plus vat, One thing to note , we keep having customer buy
documents instead of diagnostics time , you will know if the price is
too low, plus you can’t get a refund ..
Q. How do I carry out security functions such as adding new keys and programming modules?
A. Security access is a separate application, you can apply once your
account is up and running, you need to apply via the JLR portal to EU
only access, You will have to write an email request for access, stating
you’re a business and need to program and add keys etc. They will check
out your business then ask you to fill in an application form and
provide them with various bits of a paperwork, the cost is approx. £150
Q. What equipment do indeed, what laptop spec etc?
A. Passthrough is an issues with JLR particularly as all the current
J2534 compliant devices don’t have working DOIP for the later vehicle
flash programming, Bosch KTS 560/590 is advertised as being “DOIP
capable” Bosch say they are still working on it and the release should
be soon, however, the KTS and other J2534 will work with fine with SDD
software . Other devices such as I-view , Davina and Moongoose 2 pro are
still approved , but we have found The best option to guaranteed 100%
coverage is the package that contains both OEM tools

Laptop spec is very unusual and outdated not the sort you can still buy
off the shelf at PC world, at Maverick we build you a specific laptop
Windows 7 /32 bit with minimum spec of 250GB HHD , the dealer approved
laptop is the Panasonic CF53 , although it can be run on a specially
built non-tough book laptop , the software will not run on any 64 bit
machine . SDD and pathfinder can take a couple of days to load and the
process is 7/10 for complexity . JLR have been working on the windows 10
upgrade, but so far, it’s not materialised.
In addition to the configuration of Panasonic CF53, we have other computers Lenovo t420 t450 and Panasonic CF-C2 Laptop.
