Although slightly different from "normal" lights, spotlights have undergone many improvements and technological modifications like other types of lamps. So far, considering the functional quality of the spotlights, they are divided into seven categories,    Linsheng   introduced their use characteristics:

Oval spotlight. This is the most common of all seven spotlights. It produces a circular beam, but it can be easily adjusted and changed by using a different aperture, hood or shutter.

Fresnel spotlight. The spotlight is named after the designer of the Augustine Fresnel (the so-called Fresnel lens). It functions like a floodlight to illuminate a concentrated area. However, it lacks many of the advantages of other lighting, such as the inability to change the pattern of Fresnel spotlights.

The piano is convex. It was invented in the late 19th century and is the oldest of all spotlight technologies. Since spotlights have evolved into more complex and easily adjustable versions, you rarely see them used in grand events.

Beam projector. This spotlight produces a very direct and intense beam without any lens.

Follow the spotlight. Mainly used in theater performances, the lights must follow moving objects (such as actors). The light and its trajectory are usually operated by humans rather than an automatically controlled system.
Parabolic aluminized reflector (PAR) spotlights. As we all know, this is one of the first choices for stage lighting in the entertainment industry. Each PAR spotlight consists of a filament, mirror and lens fixed in a fixed position.

Parabolic aluminized reflector needle spotlights. This is a low voltage PAR spotlight that produces a concentrated, narrower beam that illuminates smaller details and objects (such as the face of a performer) than a conventional PAR spotlight.
