Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival is a special holiday in China. It happens on the fifth day of the fifth month in the lunar calendar. It's a time to remember an old poet named Qu Yuan who loved his country very much.
Today, we celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival through a various of traditions. One of the most exciting traditions is the dragon boat race. Teams row fast boats shaped like dragons. People cheer and have fun watching the races.
Another tradition is making and eating zongzi. Zongzi are rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. They can have different fillings like red beans, meat, or eggs. Eating zongzi is a tasty way to remember Qu Yuan.
The Dragon Boat Festival is also a time for families to get together. People come home to visit their relatives and share stories and traditions.
So, in summary, the Dragon Boat Festival is a holiday to remember Qu Yuan and his love for his country. It's a time for fun, food, and family.
