SQL Server 2012 64 位版本支持扩展系统，也称作“Windows 64 位上的 Windows 32 位 (WOW64)”。 WOW64 是 Windows 64 位版本中的一个功能，使用该功能可以以 32 位模式在本机执行 32 位应用程序。 尽管基础操作系统是 64 位，但应用程序以 32 位模式工作。
在安装 SQL Server 2012 的过程中，Windows Installer 会在系统驱动器中创建临时文件。 在运行安装程序以安装或升级 SQL Server 之前，请检查系统驱动器中是否有至少 6.0 GB 的可用磁盘空间用来存储这些文件。 即使在将 SQL Server 组件安装到非默认驱动器中时，此项要求也适用。

注意SMB 存储不支持独立安装或群集安装的 Analysis Services 数据文件。 请改用直接连接存储或存储区域网络。

注意SQL Server 故障转移群集安装只支持使用本地磁盘安装 tempdb 文件。 确保为 tempdb 数据和日志文件指定的路径在所有群集节点上均有效。 在故障转移期间，如果 tempdb 目录对故障转移目标节点不可用，则 SQL Server 资源将无法联机。
出于安全方面的考虑，我们建议您不要将 SQL Server 2012 安装在域控制器上。 SQL Server 安装程序不会阻止在作为域控制器的计算机上进行安装，但存在以下限制：
