My English Teacher

In junior high school, my English teacher, Mrs. Ye, was really important to me. There was one thing that happened that I will never forget.
Because I was lazy and I didn't want to do my English homework, I secretly copied the model answers, and there wasn't even the slightest trace of me having attempted to solve the problems myself. As a result, when this strict teacher was checking the homework, she immediately noticed the problems with my assignment."This student copied the homework!" Mrs. Ye thought.
During the break, Mrs. Ye called me to the teachers' office. When I walked up to her desk, I saw my English exercise book. Instantly, cold sweat broke out on my body. I knew that Miss Ye had discovered my clumsy act of cheating. However, instead of scolding me, she gently asked me why I had done that. When she learned that I didn't want to think just because of laziness, she finally got angry. She stared at my eyes. "Do you know what you've lost by doing this?" she said firmly. "You've lost the chance to truly learn and improve yourself. Laziness will only hold you back."She then took out a pen and, right then and there, started going through each question with me.As she taught, her anger seemed to fade, replaced by a determination to help me understand."I believe in you," she said."If you study hard, you will definitely become better."
From that day on, I never copied homework again.Whenever I was tempted to be lazy, I would remember the look in her eyes - the disappointment, the anger.Mrs. Ye was more than a teacher and she was the one who set me on the right path.
