With BizTalk Mapper, you can automatically create multiple links between
similar portions of the source and destination schemas at the same time. In
previous versions of BizTalk Server, you had to create each link individually,
one at a time.
There are three distinct types of record-to-record linking, each appropriate to a
different scenario based on the degree of similarity between the structures of the
source and destination schema records that are being linked:
! Simple linking. Use simple linking between single nodes or records. Create a
simple link by dragging a field from the source schema and dropping it into
a field in the destination schema.
! Structure linking. Use structure linking when the structure of the records
being linked in your source and destination schemas are the same or very
similar.
! Name-matching linking. Use name-matching linking when the structure of
the records being linked in your source and destination schemas are
somewhat similar and have matching record and field names, but also have
more structural exceptions than would be practical for structure linking.
To choose the type of automatic record-to-record linking done by BizTalk
Mapper, select the grid properties, and then set the Autolink By property to
either Node Name or Structure.
To create a structure link between portions of your source and destination
schemas that have matching structures (including entire schemas, where
applicable), press and hold down the SHIFT key while linking the relevant
nodes. After you link the nodes, links are automatically created for all of the
subordinate records and fields in both the source and destination schemas.
