Hi,
This is just a Deformer for Maya, a Deformer operates a mesh, and change its topology by parameters.
1, Copy the .mll into somewhere you like, load the plug-in to Maya.
2, AEmeshRelaxtionMesh.mel is used to generate the UI for the plug-in, you may just copy its content into Maya's MEL windows and press Ctrl+Enter to evaluate.
3, Select a mesh node not the transform node from HyperGraph, execute "deformer -type meshRelaxation" in MEL window, so that the instance of the Deformer will be attached to your DG network.
If there is something wrong please feel free to tell me.

Bo Schwarzstein 2012-05-15 19:35 发表评论

Re:Maya Mesh Relaxation Deformer

Hello again,
Thank you for your fast response, and thanks for uploading the newest version :)
I've downloaded the script and had a few experiments.
The tool seems really neat, but I couldn't get what I was after. At the moment my mesh looks messy as I have been tweaking the points one by one, and I want them to align nicely into lines without changing the shape or shrinking the mesh's volume.

This is your old post:
http://code.google.com/p/ortholab/wiki/MeshRelaxation
I'd like to get the result of the rabbit & the dragon,
as in the mesh just becomes smoother but the size doesn't reduce. Could you tell me what mode and what values you used for both the dragon and the rabbit?

(note that I was not using high-poly meshes to experiment, I was using low poly cubes and spheres)
Maybe the effect I'm after isn't actually covered by the script you designed, or because I don't know how to use this tool yet, or maybe it isn't working perfectly in the new maya?

If possible please spare a bit more time to shed some light on this!

Thanks again for your time.

Lazuul 2012-05-15 16:45 发表评论

Re:Maya Mesh Relaxation Deformer

@Lazuul
Hi, you could download the binary .mll file from here.

I found this script of yours and really would like to use it.. however it doesn't seem to work with my Maya2012 64bit. I tried to search on your new OrthoLab but couldn't find it, the newest version i found was MeshRelaxationDeformer-vc9-Maya2011-x64.7z, on http://code.google.com/p/ortholab/downloads/detail?name=MeshRelaxationDeformer-vc9-Maya2011-x64.7z, apparently your old site.
Is there a version of this script for maya2012 x64? I would really appreciate it!
Thanks a lot for your time.

Lazuul 2012-05-15 14:07
